The Burlingham House history |
Residential Care Home in Norfolk: Opening in 1971, the original mission statement for the home was "to provide a residential care home for life with a family atmosphere for mentally handicapped adults." More than thirty years on, the home has kept pace with the legislation and modernisation of residential care but continues to provide a happy, caring home for adults with learning disadvantages, special needs and learning disabilities.
Situated a few miles east of Norwich, the original house was enlarged in 1979 to provide additional places. Nine years later, a ground floor wing was added to the Main House giving five extra large bedrooms and two bathrooms. At the same time, a paved rose garden was made where residents can relax and enjoy summer evenings.
